Toyota Japan has introduced enhancements to its performance-oriented GR Corolla designed to enhance its driving dynamics.

The upgraded version of the car will have a production run limited to 550 units, and Toyota will select the fortunate owners through a lottery system.

We have reached out to Toyota Australia to confirm whether these enhancements will be applied to the new GR Corolla models intended for our market.

The improvements to the updated model's mechanics were informed by Toyota's insights from various motorsport engagements, including the Super Taikyu series.

Adjustments have been made to both the front and rear suspension systems to enhance their overall stiffness and performance.

To achieve this, novel rib-shaped bolts have been introduced for the front suspension member and steering gear box. Meanwhile, wider bolts are now used for the rear suspension member and body.

Toyota asserts that these changes will result in better steering responsiveness and enhanced stability during straight-line driving.

The company has also refined the front air intakes' design to enhance steering stability, achieved by optimizing the airflow around the car.

Additionally, a fresh color choice has been introduced in the Japanese lineup, bringing the total available colors to six. This new Cyan metallic color option will have a production cap of 50 units.

Customers who are fortunate enough to acquire a Cyan metallic GR Corolla will enjoy an interior adorned with black leather upholstery accented with blue stitching.

Toyota Japan has mentioned the possibility of increasing the limited production volume due to the gradual improvement in the semiconductor supply shortage.
